Editorial standards
What you read here should be accurate, balanced and useful. This page explains how we aim to keep it that way.
Who writes the content
Tour descriptions, destination pages and travel guides are written and reviewed by the BookTours.ca team. Our focus is guided day tours in Canada, and our aim is to describe each tour as a traveller would want it explained: what you will see, how long it takes, who it suits and what to expect.
How we research
We build tour descriptions from what is publicly known about each destination and from typical itineraries run by operators in the area, cross-checked against official park, attraction and tourism sources for opening seasons, access and conditions. We write our own text and do not copy descriptions from other websites.
Where a detail varies by season, operator or year, we say so and point you to your quote, which confirms the plan for your date.
What we do not do
We do not publish invented reviews, ratings, awards or statistics. We do not state prices on tour pages, because they depend on the date, group size and format, and are given in an itemised quote. We do not guarantee wildlife sightings, weather or natural phenomena, and we flag tours where they matter.
Keeping content current
Pages show the date they were last reviewed. We review tours, destinations and guides regularly and whenever we learn of a change that affects them, such as a seasonal schedule, an access closure or a change to how a tour runs. When information changes, we update the page and its date.
Corrections
If you spot something that is wrong or out of date, please email us and we will check it and correct it promptly. Corrections that affect your trip are also reflected in your quote and confirmation.
Photography
Photographs come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License. They are illustrative of each destination and may not show the exact stops on your tour; the scenery you see depends on the season and conditions. See our image credits page for details.
Commercial relationship
BookTours.ca is a commercial service. We arrange guided day tours and are paid for doing so, and we say so plainly because it is relevant to how you read this site. Our independent status also means we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of any government body, park authority or tourism organization.
